SUN – SAT 7am to 2pm
Hi, my name is Heather! I started my career in the kitchen at 16. I quickly moved my way up from just serving fried chicken on a hot line to being a kitchen manager. I loved my job and stayed there for nearly 10 years. I had fallen in love with feeding people. After a leap of faith move to Florida, I found myself a little lost. Not sure if I wanted to go back into the restaurant business, I tried the coffee world! I had found a company with a beautiful mission statement that aligned with my values of believing that all of our interactions with each other are important. After a few stressful years, it was apparent that I was in the wrong business as I wanted to change lives, making things easier for others and for myself. I started working at a mom-and-pop restaurant right next door to Maple Street in St. Pete.
Immediately, the community leader introduced himself, and I felt a calling to know more about Maple Street. After several months of being curious, I asked the community leader for more information. I knew right away from hearing our mission that I was in the right place. “Help people, serve others, and be a part of the community” stuck with me, and I knew I wanted to be a part of this. I knew that I could help move this forward. I confronted reality in Oveido, did my training in Parson’s Alley and then my journey started here! I am proud that every day I get to walk into my community store and lead with my head held high knowing we are all serving our community with love and grace. I love living this mission and getting to empower young people to be the best version of themselves they can be.
